How tight should the drag be?

Set it to about one third of your line's breaking strain. A simple test: pull line from the reel by hand. It should slip with a firm, steady pull but not with a light tug.

Why does my line keep tangling?

Usually because the spool is overfilled, the line was twisted while spooling, or the bail was closed by hand without tightening the line. Fill to 2 to 3 mm below the lip and keep tension on the line when you close the bail.

Which rig should a beginner use first?

A float rig for ponds and calm water, and a simple running sinker bottom rig for the sea and rivers. Together they cover most fishing in India.
