Where are fish in a pond in the afternoon heat?

In the deepest water or in shade, under trees, near weed beds or in the cooler water by an inlet. In hot Indian afternoons fish rarely sit in shallow sunny water.

Should I fish with the wind in my face?

Often yes. Wind pushes surface food and warmer water to the downwind bank, and carp and other fish follow it. It is harder to cast into, but it is usually where the fish are.

What do bubbles on a pond mean?

Small clusters of fine bubbles rising in one spot often mean carp or catla feeding on the bottom. Large single bubbles that pop and stop are usually gas from rotting leaves.
