Our story
Fishing Journey started on a jetty in Chennai with one question: why is it so hard to find a good boat, a fair fish price and honest tackle in one place? We built the marketplace we wanted — verified operators, auctions with a reserve, shops you can trust — in the languages India actually fishes in.
The mark: a hook that forms the J, a rising sun and open water.
What we do
Trip Pass: book guided trips, boat charters, pond days, kayak sessions and workshops. Every operator is document-verified (ID, vessel registration, licences, life jackets) before the Verified badge appears, and the badge expires unless re-reviewed.
Fish Market: fresh catch is sold by timed auction with a reserve price, proxy bidding and anti-snipe extensions. Only sellers with a valid FSSAI number may list. Buyers collect with a pickup code or choose delivery within the seller's radius.
Tackle Shop: rods, reels, line, lures and bait from verified tackle shops, with cash-on-delivery where the shop offers it.
Events, Groups and the Catch Vault: tournaments with live leaderboards, club meetups, private trip groups with chat, and a personal log of your trips and catches where exact spots stay private.
How we keep it safe
Exact venue coordinates and vendor phone numbers are shared only after a confirmed booking or paid order. Public pages show a ~5 km area.
Payments are processed by Razorpay and Paddle. Fishing Journey never stores card or UPI credentials. Platform fees are shown before you pay.
Protected species (for example whale shark, sawfish, sea turtles, and hilsa in the closed season) cannot be listed. Report a listing from any page and our team reviews it.
Fishing Journey is for adults (18+). Weather windows in "Best fishing time" are informational and never a safety clearance; always follow local port and coast guard advisories.
For vendors
Guides, boat operators, pond owners, fish shops, tackle shops, clubs and event organizers can list on Fishing Journey. Verification usually takes 1–2 working days. Payouts settle to your UPI or bank account after the trip, pickup or delivery is completed.
