Community Guidelines
Last updated: October 2026
Fishing Journey is a community of anglers, guides, fish sellers and tackle shops across India. These guidelines keep it safe, honest and legal. They apply to everything you post: listings, lots, products, events, reviews, catch logs, photos and group messages.
1. Be respectful
Treat other members as you would at the jetty. No harassment, threats, hate speech, slurs, bullying or sexual content. Disagreements about tackle are fine; personal attacks are not.
Do not share anyone's phone number, address, exact fishing spot or photos without their permission.
2. Fish legally
No content that shows, promotes or sells illegal fishing: dynamite, poison, electro-fishing, banned nets or mesh sizes, fishing in closed seasons or protected areas.
No catching, selling or posing with protected species (for example whale shark, sawfish, sea turtles, Gangetic dolphin, species listed under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972). If you catch one by accident, release it and do not post it for sale.
3. Sell honestly
Fish lots may only be listed by sellers with a valid FSSAI registration. Describe species, weight, grade and landing time truthfully. Vendors must hold the licences their service needs (boat registration, tourism, pond lease) and keep them current.
No counterfeit gear, no fake reviews, no bid manipulation, no off-platform payment requests, no misleading prices.
4. Protect minors
Fishing Journey is for adults (18+). Do not post personal details of children, and do not post photos that show children's faces. Family trips are welcome — keep kids out of frame or blur them.
5. Photo rules
Upload only photos you took or have the right to use. No faces of children, no protected species, no personal documents (Aadhaar, licences, bank details) in public photos. Photos are checked and may be removed.
6. Consequences
We may hide or remove content, close listings, suspend accounts for 30 days, or permanently ban accounts that break these guidelines. Serious cases (wildlife crime, fraud, threats) are reported to the authorities as the law requires. Vendors lose their verified badge after repeated violations.
7. How to report
Every listing, lot, product, event, review, profile and chat message has a Report option (tap ⋯ or the Report button). Pick a category and tell us what you saw. We acknowledge reports within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days. You can also block a member from any chat or from Me → Settings → Blocked users.
